Hi! My name is Riley; I'm Mr. Dunne.
I just finished my first year as a teacher, and the reception I received from students and parents throughout this year absolutely helped me to hone in on who I want to be as an educator (and as a person). I believe I have found my niche as an incredibly caring and empathic teacher who is infectiously passionate about physics, and that is what I am going to continue to be!
I did my undergrad studies at UCLA where I studied astrophysics!
I then went to UCI to get my Master's in teaching (physics)!
I have taught AP Physics 1 & 2 and CP Physics
Most recently (24-25), I taught at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, CA
I am currently looking for a teaching position for the upcoming school year
Obviously, I am deeply interested in physics -- not only in learning and continuing to explore it myself, but also in teaching it to others and growing alongside them.
When I was first introduced to Lagrangian mechanics in undergrad, I was instantly upset that it had been hidden from me for so long, and I've been incredibly fascinated with it ever since. I've enjoyed giving introductions to this area of physics to my classes -- for fun and to help unlock new viewpoints!
I enjoy practicing my language skills; I learned Spanish in high school and Mandarin in college, and I still practice reading and writing in Chinese as much as I can!
I have always loved baseball, and I am a devout San Diego Padres fan!
Here's a pic of me taking batting practice (with a PVC pipe and some tennis balls) in between launching our bottle rockets during the last week of school!
I have also always loved music, and I play a variety of instruments (guitar, bass, and drums for fun; trumpet in high school).
Some of my favorite bands include: Green Day, Fall Out Boy, 新裤子、后海大鲨鱼
