I've worked with the PHR library to set 4 dates for this lecture series:
Session 1: July 1
Session 2: July 15
Session 3: July 29
Session 4: August 5
All sessions will take place from 11:30am - 1:30pm in the Community Room at the library! Anyone and everyone is welcome.
My work-in-progress introduction to LM is linked to the left; this is what I'll be using as a resource to lecture from at these sessions! Feel free to check it out now, but I will treat each lecture as our first time looking at each section (in other words, you don't have to prepare for the lectures beforehand)!
In building this site, I hope to progress towards several goals:
I want to continue to build a community of people passionate about physics education!
I want to leverage that community to improve the state of local physics education!
I want to serve as a resource for those that feel unseen, unheard, and insufficiently supported in their physics classes!
Here, I'd like to keep information and notes from previous physics lectures I've given, provide information about upcoming lectures I'm giving, and share methods to stay connected as a community of physics learners and enjoyers!
This past school year (24-25) was my first year teaching, and I spent it at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, CA!
I am currently looking for work for the upcoming school year, but I hope to make my way back to CCA to continue to improve physics education.
Making progress towards these goals starts with building and growing a community.
By joining my mailing list, you can stay caught up with me, our community, and any upcoming events!
Spread the word -- if you have valued the experience you had with me, as a student or as a parent, let others know!
If you share concerns about the state of our physics education, make them known -- and reach out to me!
I am confident that we can effect change through grassroots community organization centered around unending care for our students.
